Why not…?

Filed Under (Muhasabah Diri) by hepi-gurlz on 26-11-2007

50 years old Malay lady from Kemaman, Trg was admitted to HTAA about a week ago with the complained of progressive blurring of vision of both eyes for 4 years. She was diagnosed with advanced stage of proliferative diabetic retinopathy and was admitted for operation of the left eye. The patient was a very poor patient and lived far away. However, after a week stayed in the hospital, her operation was postponed because the doctor in-charge was very busy thereby she was discharged.

Work as a doctor, it cannot be denied that the work is so busy. So, sometimes the operation have to be postponed. I do understand that and I didn’t blame the doctor. What I want to highlight here is that why not u gave a money to the patient for the “tambang”. There are not many patient that are so poor today. So, why not helping them a bit. Just consider it as “sedekah”.  Don’t u think it is ur responsibility that the patient was admitted for nothing? It might not be a big deal for u. But it is a big deal for a patient who just earned about RM20-30 per day. Sometimes, they have to fast just to save the money. Sometimes they have to borrow the money from other just to come to the hospital. Try to put urself in their shoes, then u’ll understand them better…. For u not being able to help them much, why not at least help ease their burden a bit?
