As long as she is alive…

Filed Under (Family) by hepi-gurlz on 30-12-2008

I always thought that it was better for the patient to go since prolong his/her live would just make his/her and people around his/her suffer. For 10 years, I could see how exhausted and tiring my dad, aunts and uncle were, to take care of my paralyzed grandmother who had stroke attack twice with vascular dementia. It hurted me, my brothers and my sisters so much seeing our previously active mom lying on the bed all the time after she was diagnosed with an advanced cancer.

However, I was wrong. Yes…, honestly it was very exhausted, tiring and hurtful. But, it is okay… as long as she is alive. Because at least, you can talk to her eventhough she was unable to move. Because at least, you can share your feeling and problem with her eventhough she might not understand. Because at least, you won’t be alone and you won’t miss her since she is there in front of you. Truthfully, it is always better that she is alive…

p/s: Even if I knew from the beginning that we would eventually have to say goodbye…, once more, I would like to stay together with you.
